From its name alone, it is instantly apparent that the Panerai Submersible 1950 Automatic Bronzo is a diving watch. Panerai is a renowned brand for divers; in fact, even the Egyptian Navy (as well as several other navies) used their watches for military campaigns. Now, this watch is one of the manifestations of the company’s design expertise.
The Submersible 1950 Automatic Bronzo is the modern interpretation of a Panerai model produced over half a century ago for the Egyptian Navy. The timepiece is crafted from bronze which is the combination of tin and copper because it offers resistance to erosion. Its case measures 47 mm for maximum readability. Meanwhile, the body features an anti-clockwise rotating bezel.
At the 3 o’ clock position, a winding crown is visible. There is a lever in the system which ensures that water would not damage the watch. The Panerai Submersible 1950 Automatic Bronzo is water resistant for up to 300 meters. Complimenting the overall design of the watch is the dial. The dark green shade is the perfect match for bronze. This dial is protected by glare-proof sapphire crystal that is 4 mm thick.
The watch is powered by the P.9000 calibre automatic movement that is manufactured by Panerai’s in-house facilities. This marvelous piece of craftsmanship can be appreciated through a see-through case back.
